ABOUT

Adam Lamoureux is a Canadian-born tenor saxophonist, composer, and bandleader based in New York City. Described by WKCR Radio as "one of the brightest young voices on the tenor saxophone," Adam has performed at some of the world's most celebrated stages, including Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Birdland, The Jazz Gallery, Stanford University, and Kuumbwa Jazz Center, collaborating with GRAMMY® winning and internationally acclaimed artists including John Benitez, Marc Cary, Ingrid Jensen, and E.J. Strickland.

Adam’s artistry has been recognized through prestigious programs such as the 2024 Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Program at the Kennedy Center, directed by Jason Moran, and the 2022 Jazz Aspen Snowmass Academy, as well as honors including a 2023 DownBeat Student Award, the 2019 Rico Golden Reed Award, and a prize winner in the Under 25 category of the 7 Virtual Jazz Competition.

In addition to performing, Adam is an accomplished film composer whose scores have been heard on Amazon Prime and screened at the New York Short Film Festival, including work featured alongside OSCAR® winner Whoopi Goldberg in the upcoming documentary John Johnson Reporting. Unbound by genre, he approaches each film as its own world, drawing from its aesthetic, texture, and atmosphere to serve the story fully, elevating both what it reveals and what it leaves unspoken.

As a bandleader, Adam leads a quartet performing his original compositions, noted for their energy, lyricism, and modern yet tradition-honoring voice. Adam has appeared as a featured artist as part of the Nomad Jazz Festival and is currently preparing to release his debut album.
